CONCORD UNIVERSITY CELEBRATES 25th FALL COMMENCEMENT
ATHENS, WV – Concord University held the 25th Fall Commencement during three ceremonies over two days. Master’s degree candidates for graduation were honored on December 8, and candidates for undergraduate degrees were recognized on December 9. Ceremonies were held in the Main Gym of the Leslie R. and Ruby Webb Carter Center.
Nubia Rafaela Potosme Trejos is the valedictorian for the Fall 2023 class. She graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Education with a Teaching Field in Elementary Education K-6.
Along with West Virginia, states represented by the candidates for graduation include Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia, as well as Washington D.C.
Among the 134 candidates meeting the requirements for graduation in the Fall 2023, 46 are master’s degree candidates, and 88 are undergraduate degree candidates. Three graduates are Veterans.
The ceremonies were recorded and commemorative jump drives and DVDs of the recording are available at a cost of $20 each. Orders may be placed online HERE.
Dr. Edward Huffstetler, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs issued the welcome, and remarks were presented by Chairman of the Board of Governors, David Barnette. Diplomas were presented to the Provost by Associate Provost Dr. Katherine Liptak.
